G4S Morocco Workers Win Holiday Bonus

Januay 8, 2007--The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha brings a victory for G4S workers in Morocco. A local labor union reports that when security officers were told by G4S that they would not receive their usual Eid al-Adha bonus, the workers voted to embark on a 24-hour strike on December 26, 2006. At 11:30 pm on December 25, the company agreed to pay the workers their bonuses.

“This victory shows that G4S workers can win concrete victories in their lives when they come together to demand justice,” said Christy Hoffman of UNI Global Union. “Hopefully this will be the first of many victories for the Moroccan workers fighting for fair treatment from G4S.”
